About C & C Koi Ranch
Hello and welcome to the C and C Koi Ranch. This hobby that started 30 years ago has grown into a passion for helping others with their ponds as well as providing quality Koi for other enthusiasts. As our pets began to multiply, we felt the need to share our beautiful Koi with others. Our Koi are anywhere from 2 inches to 16 inches. We have domestic and butterfly that we keep in two separate ponds. One pond is indoors so they have the luxury of growing all year! We have also started rescuing Koi that need a new home. This service is available upon request.
Some terms to know
Reticulation - this is a pattern of a darker color that will sometimes outline the scales
Scaled - meaning the koi have scales
Doitsu - this is being partially scaled
Gin Rin - these are scales that are highly reflective and glisten in the light
Lateral Line - the center line of the fish dividing it top to bottom - some koi will have color only above the lateral line or some only below the lateral line
Getting to know your Koi
Platinum
These beauties are white in color and have a shimmer to them as they swim past.
Goshiki
White koi with red patterns. These will also have black lines on the scales.
Sanke
White koi with red patches and black spots on the upper half of their body.
Hariwake
These are a bright white platinum with orange or yellow color patterns.
Asagi
These are either light blue or gray with darker patterns on the scales. They will also have orange or red patterns or patches below the lateral line.
Yamabuki
These koi come in a variety of yellow colors from bright to duller or dark with metallic scales.
Shiro
This type of Koi is white with either black spots or black bands around the body.
Showa
These koi are white, red and black. The black appears as bands around their bodies.
Shusui
These are light blue or gray with dark blue or black on the scales. They will also have orange or red on any area of the body and the fins.
Pricing
The pricing of the koi start at $25.00 and will go up depending on the size, color and variety of the fish.
Fish sizes are from 4 inches to 16 inches.
Remember, if you plan to purchase our larger koi, bring a cooler or container large enough to transport your fish home.
